Coffin Cuties®™ Magazine journeys into the past this week with some of the leading ladies in the erotic horror classics that came out of the UK in the late 1950's to the mid-1970's with Hammer Horror films. Hammer Films or Hammer Pictures is a British film production company based in London. Founded in 1934, the company is best known for a series of Gothic "Hammer Horror" films made from the mid-1950s until the 1970s.
She was best known in the late 1960s for a series of roles in three Hammer Horror films, including Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (1968) Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969) and The Horror of Frankenstein (1970).[
Caroline Munro was immediately signed to a one-year contract. Her first film for Hammer proved to be something of a turning point in her career. It was during the making of Dracula AD 1972 that she decided from this film onward she was a full-fledged actress. Munro acted in Captain Kronos – Vampire Hunter in 1974. 1971 saw her appear alongside Vincent Price in The Abominable Dr. Phibes, playing the deceased Mrs. Victoria Regina Phibes. And Margiana, the slave girl in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973).
Beswick is best known for her two appearances in the James Bond film series. Although she auditioned for the first Bond film Dr. No, she was cast in the second film From Russia with Love as the fiery gypsy girl, Zora. She engaged in the famous "catfight" scene with her rival Vida (played by former Miss Israel Aliza Gur). She was incorrectly billed as "Martin Beswick" in the title sequence. Beswick then appeared as the ill-fated Paula Caplan in Thunderball. She had been away from the Caribbean so long that she was required to sunbathe constantly for two weeks before filming, in order to look like a local. Martine went on to appear in One Million Years B.C. opposite Raquel Welch, with whom she also engaged in a catfight. She then appeared in various Hammer Studio low-budget films, most notably Prehistoric Women and the gender-bending Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde, in which she played the titular villainess. She played Adelita in the well-regarded Spaghetti Western A Bullet for the General in 1967 opposite Klaus Kinski and Gian Maria Volonté. She starred as the Queen of Evil in Oliver Stone's 1974 directorial debut Seizure, aka Queen of Evil. In the 1970s.

Sex and Horror Signing & Talk with Emanuele Taglietti
Black Decagon Film Club will be screening Italian Maestro Federico Fellini’s adult fairy tale, and his first colour feature from 1965 ‘Juliet of The Spirits’. Fellini creates dazzling imagery, assisted by brilliant cinematography, production and set design. The screening will be preceded by a talk with Emanuele Taglietti, one of the production designers of the film, and the subject of the new book “Sex and Horror: The Art of Emanuele Taglietti” published by Korero Press. Emanuele will be signing from 6-7pm on Thursday 10th September then Screening and Talk from 7.30pm.
Emanuele Taglietti is an Italian comic book cover artist known for his outrageously raunchy and errie artwork. Throughout his acclaimed career in the 1970s and 1980s, the golden age of fumetti, he painted more than 500 covers for such books as Zora the Vampire, Sukia, Mafia, and 44 Magnum. Due to the pace of productions schedules, Taglietti was called on to produce dozens of paintings per month. Sex and Horror collects these paintings into one incredible book! We can’t wait to have Emanuele here not only for a signing but also a talk on his paintings and production design work.

This will be a art exhibit of his cover art work and history over the years. This is such a honer and I'm proud to say I've worked with yet another one of the master pulp artist of our time.
